Aloha e ke hoa!

Pehea ‘oe? Welcome to the HQ!

Mahalo nui for checking out this dashboard for participants. We want Kanaeokana to be clear, transparent, and efficient so that all participants can better engage in the hana. If you love the lāhui, if you love kuleana, if you love ‘āina, if you love ‘olelo, if you love working collaboratively and can play well with others, this is for you! You’ll hear us talk a lot about harnessing the power of “collective intelligence” and how “kuleana is the boss.” And it’s in that spirit that all of the various organizations that make up Kanaeokana come together and make things happen through participation. So now you might be asking yourself, “that’s maika‘i, but how do I participate?” So without getting all nuts and giving you a bunch of matrices and complex flow charts, hereʻs the short three step answer:

  1. Share your thoughts and needs through the digital surveys we send out to help determine the network’s focus and keep things calibrated. In between, jump on Slack.
  2. Kōkua aku, kōkua mai! Jumping into the project work of Kanaeokana. Don’t know where to start? Check out the Kanaeokana Project Dashboard.
  3. A‘o aku, a‘o mai! Jump into the annual ‘Aha Kūkā that Kanaeokana hosts every year as an attendee, presenter, or as kōkua to the event itself.

There are other ways you can participate, like opening up your spaces and facilities to Kanaeokana events, helping to share out Kanaeokana kāhea, messages, and communications to the communities you have roots to, and other kinds of kōkua that are too long to list here, though we think you are starting to get the idea.

If you’re part of a Hawaiian culture, language or ‘āina-based or supporting organization that is not yet a participant, you can apply here.

How does the collective of Kanaeokana see aloha ‘āina leadership?

The mana‘o and ‘ike found in these documents are the result of the collective intelligence harvested over several Kanaeokana ‘Aha Kūkā. These are the beliefs, principles, and processes that guide the why, how, what, and who of Kanaeokana.

Check out the Kanaeokana Project Dashboard to see how you can kōkua.
