— Joseph Nawahi. Ke Aloha Aina, Buke 1, Helu 1 25 Mei 1895

Joseph Nāwahī says that aloha ʻāina is the magnetic pull within our hearts. And just as a compass needle is always drawn to point north, our hearts are always drawn to aloha for our ʻāina. It is that invisible pull that decides all of our actions and all of our pono, and it is what brings us together to stand as a lāhui.

On October 5th, tens of thousands of koa aloha ‘āina felt the magnetic pull within their hearts and flooded the streets of Waikīkī. The ume mageneti connected us all across the pae ʻāina as other demonstrations and acts of aloha ‘āina were carried out by kānaka on all the islands, even by those who could only join the action via live stream. The pull of aloha ‘āina has brought us together, but where it will draw us next is up to us.

Ke Aloha Aina; Heaha ia? O ke Aloha Aina, oia ka Ume Mageneti iloko o ka puuwai o ka Lahui
