Kōmike Hālau ʻŌiwi Meeting
September 20 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm HST
Aloha nui kākou e ka ʻohana Hālau ʻŌiwi,
Pehea mai nei kākou? Hope all of you are doing well.
Just had a meeting with Malia and looking at what we kōmike could potentially be doing this year. We had an opportunity to re-visit last year’s SMART Goals and working off of the goals listed as IN PROGRESS, we can begin conversations on what you folks would want to do.
Hoping to convene kōmike to continue conversations around your folks’ work and what might be potential next steps. Below is a brief list of bullet points that came from our discussion to be included in this meeting.
1.19-20 Year 2 SMART Goals – the list below has been taken from SMART Goals 18-19 – Maybe add one more goal for this year?
a.Create a strategy to communicate with identified Hālau ʻŌiwi communities to network and share resources [in progress]
b.Co-develop and distribute Hawaiian language and cultural materials in multiple mediums in collaborations with identified Hālau ʻŌiwi communities [in progress]
c.Develop and implement HCBE experiences in collaboration with identified Hālau ʻŌiwi communities that have expressed interest [in progress]
2.19-20 Hālau ʻŌiwi Activities
a.Hālau ʻŌiwi Community Training Workshop ‘Framework’
a.Is there a fit? How might kōmike support? How might your Hālau ʻŌiwi support? Might you be interested?
Last question. Would you rather meet ‘face to face’ or via ‘zoom’? Knowing you folks are really busy, what might be ideal for you all? Please let me know in your response by confirming attendance and if you’d rather ‘face to face’ or ‘zoom.’
Me ka mahalo haʻahaʻa,
